Co - founded by Andy Zhong in Silicon Valley, 2010. FunPlus Group has grown into a world leading interactive entertainment company that has offices in Beijing, San Francisco, Taipei, Tokyo, New Delhi etc, with over 600 employees coming from more than 20 countries, and supporting localized products in 18 languages.
In the past 8 years, FunPlus became top tier game developer in both Casual and SLG genres, with mobile/pc family game IP, like Family Farm, Family Farm Seaside, that have over 100 million players all over the world, and SLG game King of Avalon as the first Chinese game that rocketed to No. 1 on Apple store Top Grossing chart in United States; the game has ranked Top 5 in 30+ countries and regions.
In 2016, one of the subsidiary companies of FunPlus, Dian Dian Interactive, was acquired by Century Holdings for over $1 billion. In the same year, FunPlus and Inke, a successful livestreaming platform in China, founded Next Entertainment as a joint venture, that also gained investment from GSR Ventures and Mayfield Fund. Andy also serves as CEO of this company and he is committed to taking the mobile livestreaming model overseas. Next Entertainment has done very well in Taiwan, and entered India and Japan Markets.
In 2016, FunPlus Ventures is founded. It invested many vigorous and innovative game studies in global market, such as thatgamecompany founded by Chinese game designer Jenova Chen, Bonfire Studio founded by Blizzard’s former chief creative officer Rob Pardo, Stress Level Zero which focus on creating VR games, and Sirvo Studios founded by the developer of Threes! Asher Vollmer.
In early 2017, representing FunPlus Ventures, Andy led the investor pack when Cloud9, an iconic North American eSports organization closed its Series A financing. Other investors include: Hunter Pence, San Francisco Giants outfielder; Alexis Ohanian, Reddit co-founder; Chamath Palihapitiya, Golden State Warriors co-owner; Todd Boehly, LA Dodgers co-owner and Eldridge Industries founder, etc.
Late 2017, being optimistic about the great potential and bright future of eSports, Andy founded FunPlus Sports, and entered LoL Pro League (LPL) with its very own eSports Club FunPlus Pheonix (FPX), aiming to create world leading eSports teams with advanced operation philosophy and management mechanism, bring new blood and revolution to LPL and even the whole ecosystem worldwide.
